Research Overview
Bacteriostatic Water for Injection USP is sterile water preserved with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, a concentration that inhibits bacterial proliferation and maintains vial sterility across multiple aliquoting events in laboratory research settings. It is the standard diluent used in peptide research workflows for reconstituting lyophilized compounds where multi-use vial access is required without risk of microbial contamination between draws. BME Health supplies Bacteriostatic Water in 3mL and 10mL formats as an essential research accessory for peptide preparation workflows. Supplied exclusively for laboratory and research use.
Bacteriostatic Water is not a bioactive compound and has no pharmacological research application independent of its function as a diluent vehicle. Its primary research utility is as a reconstitution medium for lyophilized peptides and research compounds, where the benzyl alcohol preservative maintains sterility of the vial contents across repeated needle access events — a common requirement in multi-day or multi-experiment laboratory workflows. Selection of an appropriate reconstitution vehicle is a critical consideration in maintaining research compound activity and experimental reproducibility. All outcomes referenced do not constitute evidence of clinical efficacy or safety in humans.

COA / Testing
Batch documentation and third-party testing information are available for batch BME-BACWAT-A. COA previews appear only when documentation exists for the active batch.
Storage & Handling
Bacteriostatic Water should be stored at room temperature or refrigerated (2–8°C); do not freeze. Freezing disrupts the benzyl alcohol preservative distribution and may compromise vial sterility. Once opened, use within the period specified on the vial label and maintain aseptic technique throughout all aliquoting procedures.
